Nothing really noteworthy has happened recently. Mostly just dealing with taking care of my grandma and watching her food and helping her with her catheter (which she had removed tuesday).
A few fun points of interest: This girl Courtney, that i kinda like, and I were supposed to go to the city to see wicked and go to dinner and the whole nine yards. But she ended up getting a stomach ulcer about 2 days prior and was coughing blood and stuff of that sort. so that pretty much made her unable to go. So last minute i asked my friend jessika if she wanted to come. Luckily she was free and so the two of us trekked out there had a nice dinner at Kuleto's in the city took muni to the civic center and watched Wicked at the Orpheum. Afterward we went back to the east bay and had some drinks at the Usher Inn in san lorenzo. It was seriously a good night.
Last night my coworker carissa and i went out to oakland to go see this band Killola at the Uptown in Oakland. We first went and got some sushi at Ichiro's on 15th and Broadway. Apparently they were backed up cuz it took hella long to get our food. Whatever it was hella good. Anyway we found a garage and parked for like 5 bucks and walked over to the uptown. There wasn't a cover yet because the show hadn't started so we had some drinks and chilled out in the patio for a bit. We were joined by two of the guys from Killola and started talking with them about sea kittens, and bands that have wolf in the name. It was decided that the next side project would be deerwolf. It was quite the conversation. We watched all of the 3 bands that played the first one didnt really grab me, but the next two were awesome. Kristeen Young was a very good singer. she definitely had some pipes on her. Not only that but her style of dress was very quirky and she had quite the stage presence. carissa and i were trying to decide wether or not she was only a bitch on stage or if that was really her. We kinda leaned on the latter. Killola was on next and boy do they put on a good show. There were some groupies who were crowding the front but other than that it was a great show and i had me a damn good time.
i got home at about 2 am and fell asleep around 2:30. My grandpa comes into my room at about 5 saying my grandma couldnt breathe again. As Trisha so eloquently put it a few weeks ago "We know the drill." We took her to san leandro hospital and they admitted her and put her on some liquid lasix in the IV Dd some tests and after about 4 hours the doctor came and said that this is just something that's going to happen with grandma because its just how her body works. We just have to monitor her diet and some times double her lasix pill when needed. and schedule her for periodic check ups and such. But yeah thats life *sigh* i need a break.
