mom got me a book by neil gaiman called Smoke and Mirors

this is the first story out of it:

Nicholas Was…

Older than sin, and his beard could grow no whiter. He wanted to die.

The dwarfish natives of the Arctic caverns did not speak his language, but conversed in their own, twittering tongue, conducted incomprehensible rituals, when they were not actually working in the factories.

Once very year they forced him, sobbing & protesting, into Endless Night. During the journey he would stand near every child in the world, leave one of the dwarves’ invisible gifts by its bedside. The children slept, frozen into time.

He envied Prometheus and Loki, Sisyphus and Judas. His punishment was harsher.

Ho.

Ho.

Ho.

i thought it clever.

anyhow. I've been a busy bee lately. Grandma got sick again and went to the hospital for hte same problem she had last time. for those of you not keeping up it's what they call CHF or congestive heart failure. My grandmother can't have any salt in her diet so when she likes to sneak salty foods her body retains water putting extra pressure on her heart and lungs. they kept her in the ER for a few days she was very confused as to her surroundings and who the nurses were. it was a trying time.

monday they did an Angiogram and found that she had two arteries in her heart that were blocked so they put in two stents to open the arteries. the doctor said that now that her heart is clear, if she keeps up her diet then she shouldn't ever have this problem again. When my aunt called my grandpa to tell him that he cried with relief. It's amazing to me how much they love each other after 62 years together. i want that.

i was getting these wicked pressure headaches right at the top/ middle of my head and i wasn't sure what was causing them. i thought maybe a change in weather, then i thought maybe allergies, i even tried excedrin tension headache medication. nothing seemed to work. i'd get them every day for at least a few hours at a time. i figured out later that it was stress that was manifesting itself as a headache. so that's cool.

this passed sunday i went to capitola with a bunch of my friends. it was like 80+ degrees and the water was frigid. so that was a nice mix. i barely even tanned at all! we were there for like 6 hours! oh well. afterward we went to a friend of a friend's house in santa cruz. i ended up getting home at 11pm. it was definitely a good day. pics will be around soonly. gnight guys
